The MensacardInformation about cashless paymentDear Customer! In our “Mensa” student canteens and bistros we serve more than fifteen thousand meals every day. To ensure we can still offer excellent service while catering for such large numbers, we have introduced a cashless payment system using the MensaCard. You can obtain a MensaCard at one of our information desks, either at the 'Aasee Mensa' or at the 'Mensa am Ring' as well as at any of the cash registers at our other outlets. We charge 10€ for a new MensaCard. The 10€ price tag includes a 5€ non-refundable fee plus a 5€ credit. In the interests of all our customers we ask that you keep the credit on your MensaCard topped up. You can top up your MensaCard at one of our MensaCard machines to the value of €5, €10, €20 or €50, up to a maximum credit of €60. In busy periods where the topping up of credit cards causes delays to our service, our cashier staff may charge an additional fee of €0.25 for topping up the credit on your MensaCard. Faulty cards can be returned to any of our student canteens, where any existing credit can usually be identified and transferred on to the new card. Defective cards can also be returned to most of the cash registers at our other outlets and forwarded to the office. The staff there will issue a replacement card within one business day and send it back to the original outlet for you to collect. In accordance with the Federal Data Protection Act, no personal data will be stored on the MensaCard. However, we do recommend that you write your name and address or telephone number on the card itself. Cards are often misplaced or forgotten and this will make it possible for your card to be returned to you. Since 2007 the credit on your MensaCard can also be used for university copying machines. |
